The worst thing you could do is nothing.
Sunday, November 29, 2009 at 9:26PM
As stated by my friend Michael Silva in his post entitled, "The day I decided to never eat again, ever!", we "try not to get too deep and political here". But as the present has it, most of us don't really have a choice in the matter of political awareness vs. blissful ignorance. The latter seems fleeting, and when 'market research' is on your daily to-do, there begins to appear a faint gray line between learning things and doing things. If you care about the environment (✓) or your job (✓) or your personal health (✓), somewhere along the lines you have to pay some sort of attention to politics. This cross-sectioning of awareness will reveal itself a challenge at first, but eventually it comes full circle.

Maybe your challenge was to skip black friday and wait for cyber monday this year. Well I came across this photo of a couple of Philly hipsters putting word to action and it challenged me to challenge myself. They're supporting a cause called "Buy Nothing Day", but you can support any cause you want. The worst thing you could do is nothing. Go out there and find something to support. It's easy to find like-minded people in your community who are taking a moment to get off the internet and do something IRL via services like Meetup.com.

And speaking of challenges, on Wednesday we showed our friends on Twitter "How to enjoy a meatless Thanksgiving" via our daily green tips. Here's a photo of my first Tofurkey Day. And if you're twitterific, be sure to follow us @PizzaFusion.
